Open Studios are available for members only. The building opens on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m., and anyone who wishes to use the facility and enjoy the company of other artists are welcome. A typical Tuesday finds painters working on the mail level of the building, potters working in the studio in the basement, and fiber artists in both the main floor group and working in the basement fiber studio. The highlight of the day is the lunch, where everyone from all areas of the building come together for fellowship and fun. It is a great way to communicate with others who share your art passion, receive encouragement and positive critiques, and possibly broaden your artistic horizons.
A Live-model Open Studio group meets every Wednesday from 1:00-3:30 p.m. Participants are currently taking turns “sitting” for portraits. At some point, a small cost to pay a model will be shared by all participants. This is a chance to practice your portrait skills working from life using whatever media you like (watercolor, oil, acrylic, pencil, etc.).
Other Membership Benefits include access to all classroom and studio areas of the building any day Gallery 92 West is open (1 to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday). Any equipment housed within the building is available to members, but members are expected to exercise proper care and cleaning of the equipment when they are finished.
Contact Barbara at 402-721-7779, or e-mail email@example.com for more information about any of these groups.
